Figtreebay Water Sports was established in 1967 by Mr. Tassos Psaras.
A Pedal Boat and 2 Canoes - accquired from another Water Sports Company in Famagusta- was all he had for rental...!
The Road coming from Paralimni and Famagusta was a dirt road

with no lightning which only locals knew about. Consequently the beach was mostly accessible by the sea and many tourists from Famagusta used to take boat trips to Fig Tree Bay and spend the day on the beach.

The only facilities on the beach were the Water Sports and two Restaurants owned by the Zefkas Brothers and Landos Brothers.
